About Geeta

The Bhagavad Gita, The Song of the Bhagavan, often referred to as simply the Gita, is a 700-verse scripture that is part of the Hindu epic Mahabharata. This scripture contains a conversation between Pandava prince Arjuna and his guide Lord Krishna on a variety of theological and philosophical issues. Faced with a fratricidal war, a despondent Arjuna turns to his charioteer Krishna for counsel on the battlefield. Krishna, through the course of the Gita, imparts to Arjuna wisdom, the path to devotion, and the doctrine of selfless action.[1] The Gita upholds the essence and the theological tradition of the Upanishads.[2] However, unlike the rigorous monism of the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita also integrates dualism and theism. The epic Mahabharata is traditionally ascribed to the Sage Ved Vyasa; the Bhagavad Gita, being a part of the Mahabharata, is also ascribed to him.

He Geetasagar Taranga – Audio Visual Project Saint Dynaneshwar quotes in Dyaneshwari that Bhagwad Geeta is ‘Saptashati’ 700-verses and the ‘Shlokas’ are ‘Mantras’. Chanting of these ‘Shlokas’ should be done in the manner depicted in the ‘Shastras’ Revealed Scriptures. Mantras recited in proper manner are considered capable of “creating transformation”. For this purpose, we have prepared the CD with chanting of Geeta in accordance to the ‘Shastras’ in an audio-visual format. The Geeta ‘Shlokas’ can be seen in the VCD form by viewers and will be heard with a clear and pure pronunciation as per Panini’s Grammar. Every student, devotee and interested person will be benefited by this VCD of  Bhagwad Geeta. This will be useful in ‘Sanskar Varga’ andthe Senior Citizen’s Association.
